Business and Community Expo - October 3rd 2015

On Saturday October 3rd Kilmacud Crokes hosted a Bank of Ireland Club Enterprise Day in Glenalbyn. We are excited that our main sponsor had chosen to bring such an event to the club.

This is the 1st time the bank did one of these in conjunction with a Club. Prior to this they were always a town related event – which just goes to show how large our club is !!!!!. The event was held in Parc De Burca between 11am and 4pm.  Up to 80 businesses were in attendance. The weather stayed fine for us with no rain.  There was a combination of local enterprises and businesses run by members.  We had a number of food stalls which served up quality taster options to all in attendance. The kids were entertained by a bouncy castle, face painters and sumo wrestling!!!   We had a number of business speakers who shared their wisdom and insights with the audience.  Paul McNeive gave us inspirational and entertaining motivational speech on succeeding in business. He was joined by Jim Ryan from Spirit Motors in Sandyford who gave us a local business perspective. This was followed by Stephen Maguire who gave a talk on wellbeing based on his experiences as a performance and development coach drawing from learnings he has gotten working with  groups and individuals in all performance related areas such as confidence, anxiety, concentration and goal setting to name a few.  There is no doubt that the highlight of the afternoon was the appearance of Katie Taylor. Katie was on hand to help launch with our own Lucy Mannion our Club CrokesTalks Wellbeing promo video. Katie also gave us a great insight into what drives her world class performance and what messages she had for the assembled numbers of boys and girls who turned out to see her. She helped award a number of competition prizes to lucky winners. Not surprising that a lot of her success is attributed to dedicated focus and hard work.  Overall the day was a great success and we are extremely grateful to all those folks from the Club and The Bank for the planning and delivery of the event.
