Dermot Early Youth Leadership Initiative

Last year the Dermot Early Youth Leadership Initiative was run in Dublin for the first time , both northside and southside. With many of participants graduating from NUI Galway in the last week, with a Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action . This year, there will be only one group in Dublin. The programme will be held in Croí Ró Naofa Gaa club in Tallaght. 

Foróige in partnership with the GAA, NUIG and the Dermot Earley family have recently opened the application process for the 2016-2017 Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative. The Dermot Earley Youth Leadership Initiative (DEYLI) is named after the late Dermot Earley, one of Ireland’s most inspirational leaders and esteemed GAA inter-county player.

Participants must be aged 15-17, active members of their GAA Club in Dublin and have an interest in developing their leadership skills. The programme will run from November 2016 to May 2017. Places are limited to 20 in Dublin. As with the Foróige Leadership programme, participants will have the opportunity to complete the NUI Galway accredited Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action.

Participants are asked to write 100 words (maximum) about why they want to take part. This should be done in a word document.  As demand is set to be high, clubs are asked that only 3 nominations per club, as there is only 20 spaces available. The deadline for applications will be Monday the 7th of November at 5pm, with the programme commencing on the 14th of November (Commencing date may be subject to change).
