KC Minor A v St Sylvesters - Championship Win

Another great win for the Minor A team - 3 wins from 3 matches.

Its hard to believe that a team could win a match scoring 4-21 and yet feel a little deflated at the end  but that is exactly how our Minor As probably felt at the end of this cracking championship match against St. Sylvester's on Sunday.

Quickly out of the blocks we had 1-3 on the board after just 5 minutes, courtesy of a well worked goal from Jonesy and an excellent score from corner back Mikey Mullin. However Sylvesters responded well and they were level after 10 minutes. We traded scores and we were just a point up when a superb goal from Rob Russell lit the fuse. Thereafter we scored at will with points from Dan, Jonesy and Niall O'Leary. The icing on the cake was another well worked goal from Niall Brady and at half time we led 3-13 to 1-6.

Whatever was put into the half-time cup of tea did not work.  2 early goals from Syls gave them hope and within 5 minutes of the restart the lead was down to 4. While we stretched the lead back to 6, Syls kept coming and with over 10 minutes remaining the score was 3-15 to 4-11. However the introduction of Paddy Flaherty swung the game back in our favour and an excellent move started and finished by our star man, corner back Adam Kelly, led to our fourth goal (although Paddy Flaherty is claiming half of it !) . Further scores followed and at the final whistle the score was :

Crokes 4-21 Sylvesters 4-11

Its 3 wins from 3 a place in the semi-final is assured. There is one more group game against Clontarf at home on Nov. 6.
