BILLY NOCTOR'S CAPTAINS DAY - 26TH JUNE - RESULTS

The weather gods could not have been kinder for our visit to this well maintained, but very challenging, scenic club by the sea. A full time-sheet provided the ideal backdrop for  very competitive scoring with countbacks required in many cases to determine the placings. Winner Richie Stakelum had no problem with course or greens returning an excellent 40 points. Runner up was Barry O'Donovan with other places going to Sean Clancy, Pat Duggan and Hugh Finlay. Other prizewinners were Pauric McMenamin, Tom Noone, Michael Russell, Seamus Clancy, Duncan Aitken, Ken Hanamy, Pat Horgan, Ger O'Loughlin, Gerry Greene and Robbie Davis.

 

Aidan Doherty won the Captain's Prize for Associate Members. Senior Member, Seamus McCann finished the round in style but hoped, after some more practice, to put in a more serious challenge next year.  Mick Greene was delighted to win some hard cash off his competitive sibling, Gerry - a rare occurrence apparently!

A very well attended meal and Social function for the golfers and their friends was held in Glenalbyn Clubhouse later in the evening. An outstanding array of prizes had been arranged by Captain, Billy, for distribution on the night. Prize-giving also covered the winners for the other outings held so far this year.  See photos below.

A feature of the Woodbrook outing was the presence of a Ladies 4 ball team, who more than held their own in the scoring stakes. Welcome to the Society and thank you for your support.
Full marks to caterer, Michael Kinsella, and his staff for the excellent meal and service. It contributed enormously to the success of the evening. In addition to accomplished golfers, the Society has an array of talented entertainers who provided a suitable finale to a most memorable occasion.
