END OF YEAR EXECUTIVE UPDATE TO MEMBERS
End Of Year Executive Update to Members
The Executive Committee of Kilmacud Crokes GAA Club would like to wish all members a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year. This year, 2014, has been a year where the hard work of all Club Committees, managers, coaches, mentors and most importantly players has resulted in moments of great pride and enjoyment on the pitch. We are a GAA Club and this year the voluntary effort of so many people has created the opportunity for hundreds of young people and adult players to enjoy the games and to fulfil their sporting potential through GAA games.
The Executive would like to reflect on some of the high points of 2014 and to identify our priorities for the year ahead. Before doing that we would also like to remind all members of the Club's Benevolent Fund, a fund established by the members for the benefit of members at those moments when financial support can be of real value. The fund is confidentially and respectfully operated by members of long standing. Please contact Paddy Walsh, John Baker, Donie Dowling, Gerry Greene, Pat Halpin, Frank Rutledge or Kevin Foley, if you know of a situation where the Benevolent Fund could be of assistance.
2014
The year we won County Championships at adult level in three codes and went farther than we ever did before in Hurling and Ladies Football!
We secured the maximum allocation in the 2014 Sports Capital Grant Programme - €200,000 for the Páirc De Búrca upgrade project.
The members decided to invest in a 25 year arrangement to have exclusive use of Benildus All Weather on Saturdays and Sundays (subject to planning and legals, neither of which are complete at this point).
We had the first year of operation of a new unified and streamlined membership fee structure.
Lotto revenues delivered huge improvements to the Gym in a project delivered by members and players from the playing sections.
The club made significant Investments in Silver Park and the Paddock including nets, pads and tree control.
The Malin to Mizen Club cycle undertaken by 32 cyclists and 4 support crew, all members of the Club – raised over 32k euro each for the Club and Breast Cancer research.
We continued to leverage our communication channels to keep members informed of all Club activities and decisions.
Big changes were made in the club bar and catering facilities driven by Michael Kinsella, all designed to increase and improve the commercial value and community aspect of the club.
The Club re-engaged with Scór after many years of absence – a very successful Scór na bPáistí was held.
Executive Priorities for 2015
Executing the Sports Capital Grant funded project in Páirc de Búrca – Will involve EGM approval, project planning including consultation with sections to devise an agreed project plan to execute this development. This project is part of the overall facilities development roadmap which is a key priority in the Clubs Strategic plan.
Driving continued integration to standardise the club accounts structures and providing informational updates to members on how income is distributed and used to support the club activities.
Making real progress in the first quarter of 2015 on the Club's commitment to enhance awareness and understanding of mental health consciousness and awareness among young people and members of all ages.
Continue to ensure we maintain and drive a NO Pay / NO Play policy in the club.
Completing the re-vamp of the Club's communications platform.
Targeting the Sports Capital Programme for 2015 with a focus on Silver Park.
Using Club lotto funds to deliver phase 2 of Gym re-development project.
Meeting each section committee in early new year with Executive delegation to understand what their expectation / need from the Exec is for 2015 and what they see as the Strategic Plan priorities for 2015.
