Dublin Sports Awards 2011

On the evening of February 3, 2012, the winners will be announced at a gala event in the Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley, which will be covered by Setanta Sports for later broadcast.

This unique and prestigious evening for the first time welcomes the cameras of Setanta Sports, who have come on board with Dublin Gazette Newspapers and Clarion Hotels to cover the event that rewards Dublin’s hard-working sporting heroes.

The Dublin Sports Awards brings together sportspeople who have achieved success in 2011 at national and international level, and affords young and local sports people and teams to showcase their achievements on the same night of celebration as some of their heroes.

Amongst the nominees for the awards are Premier League soccer star, Conor Sammon, one of Irish cricket’s brightest young talents, George Dockrell, star of Irish athletics, Deirdre Ryan, and the All-Ireland winning Dublin senior football team.

These stars of the national and international stage will be joined by fellow nominees including Blackrock College rugby team, Castleknock GAA Club, Insaka FC, and Lucan Sarsfields camogie team.

There are 12 monthly winners for the ‘Sports Star of 2011’, and 12 monthly nominees for the ‘Sports Team of 2011’, who are all nominated for the overall prize in these categories.
