The Intermediates started their league campaign with a very good win against Fingallians in Swords on Saturday evening (8 April 2006).

Although Crokes trailed by 1-4 to 1-2 at half time, they upped their performance in the second half and came out worthy winners in the end, by 2-8 to 1-6. There were outstanding performances by Eoin de Paor at centre back and Eoin Murphy at centre forward. Not far behind were Davy Baker and Niall Lillis in midfield, with excellent performances by Eoin O'Keeffe, Andrew Hopkins and Joe O'Reilly in defence.

Scorers: Ronan Walsh, 1-0; Damian McSweeney, 1-2; Davy Baker, 0-4 (2 frees); Richie Power, 0-1 (free) and Eoin de Paor, 0-1 (free).
