Jim Redington RIP

Body

A true Stillorgan and Kilmacud Crokes Legend. End of an era.

A man who had a positive impact on so many young people through Hurling and through reaching out and encouraging those who may otherwise have lost their way. A man of limitless patience, empathy and love.

Jim soldiered in the wilderness years for hurling working with under age and junior teams even playing in goals with a junior team into his 60s. His white Subaru estate packed with an entire underage hurling panel was a sight to behold as it brought Jim's charges to the hurling fields of Dublin. A generation of young hurlers benefitted from the wisdom and care that flowed from that true icon.

A former US marine, champion boxer and world renowned masseur. People came to Jim from all around the world to be put through the rigours of his famous massage and to come away from the treatment table transformed.

So many stories. So many lives changed for the better.

Thank you Jim and God speed to the Subaru in the sky.

Our sympathies to Oisin & Dearbhaill and the wider Redington Clan.
