Kilmacud Crokes 2.16 / Naomh Mearnog 2.06

 

Junior B team had another impressive win in the Championship on Saturday evening last June 24th 06 in Portmarnock with a 2.16 t o 2.06 victory over Naomh Mearnog, this leaves them top of their section with three wins out of three.

 

The lads got off to a great start notching up 4 points before conceding a goal against the run of play, however it didn’t affect them as further points from Loughnane, Byrne, a goal and three points from K McGrath ( 2 x 65’s) and another point from Colin Kearney  left the Crokes lads up by 7 points at the break.

 

 

The second half was closely contested and there was some terrific team play from the full back line, Garvey and Scanlon in the half line and the full forward line of Peacock, Loughnane and Mc Grath were showing for every each ball, they were well supported with great performances from The two Byrnes at midfield and Kearney and O’Shaughnessy in the half forward line.

 

A spirited comeback by Mearnog left only two points between the teams with 14 minutes to go, however the Crokes lads lifted the tempo and Points from Kearney, McGrath, Dave Stafford, two from Collie Maher and a goal and a point from Mark Peacock ensured a 10 point and well deserved victory.
