On Sunday 23rd October 2005  Kilmacud Crokes contested the Dublin Junior B Hurling Championship B Final and for the second year in a row had to be content with runners up.

Crokes were first to score with a John Dillon pointed free.  Faughs levelled in the same manner after 9 minutes and added a further goal (from a free) and four points before John Dillon scored another two frees to haul the Tymon team back.  However in the four minutes of extra time played in the first half Faughs added two more pointed to another from Dillon, again from a placed ball, to leave if 1-7 for Faughs to 0-4 for Crokes at the break.

During the interval Crokes switched goalkeeper Colm Maher to full forward with Pat Halpin coming in as net minder.  The move immediately paid dividends with Maher pointing for the first score of the second half on 32 minutes.  Three minutes later John Scanlon goaled.  When Crokes added another point on 39 minutes they trailed by the minimum, 1-7 to 1-6.  During the next thirteen minutes Faughs outscored Crokes by four points to one before Eoin Guinan got in for a good point under pressure.  Shortly afterwards Faughs looked to have sealed victory when their third 65 in immediate succession was finished to the Crokes net.  A point straight after left them 2-12 to 1-9 ahead.  Showing great courage Crokes fought back and were rewarded with a goal direct from a 65 on the stroke of full time.  Try as they might in the five minutes extra time played Crokes were unable to pierce the Faughs and had to be content with second place.
