"Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young" Awareness Presentation Thursday 15 November at 7.30pm

Body

You hear and read a lot today about sudden death syndrome in young people playing sports. But how much do you actually understand about the causes, what can be done to identify risks and prevent such tragedies.

Prompted by a recent event which happened to one of our young players, which thankfully did not result in such a tragic outcome, Kilmacud Crokes will host an informational evening on this subject. The presentation will take place ahead of the Coiste AGM on Thursday the 15th of November at 7:30pm in the function room.

Come along and listen to an expert in this area. Dr Deirdre Ward, consultant cardiologist and Director of the CRYP centre will speak on the topic.  She will give us a brief overview of what it is that causes sudden death in young people, how common it is, what to look out for, and the pros and cons of getting tested. She will also touch on the importance of CPR training and a 'plan' for what to do if anyone collapses.

It promises to be a very informative talk, so please take the time to attend.
