Saturday 5th April saw the 13A’s beat Na Fianna by 3-8 to 1-4, while the B’s lost out to Faughs, 6-6 to 3-3. To see images of the A’s game against Na Fianna click HERE or on flashing camera above. The under 16’s travelled to St Vincent’s for a league game.  At one stage Crokes led by seven points but the loss of a player through a second yellow card contributed to their eventual defeat. On Sunday morning in an icy cold and windy Marley Park the under 15’s had a good league win over Ballinteer St Johns.  Crokes led 2-2 to 0-4.  In the second half they were put to the pin of their collar especially when Ballinteer goaled mid way through to bring the score to 3-4 to 2-5.  Two late points relieved the pressure and saw the Kilmacud lads run out 3-6 to 2-5 winners.  Most prominent for the victors were Paddy Tighe, Sean Boyd, Oisin O’Carroll, Keith Finn and Fionan Motherway. For a more detailed report of this game click HERE.

Team: P Tighe, N Hanley, S Boyd, A Colclough, O O’Carroll, J Huban, S Moran, N Carr, A Pilkington, B O’Farrell, K Finn, F Motherway, K Kelly, J Cassidy, J Clinton.  Subs: J O’Brien for A Colclough, A Colclough for B O’Farrell.

Also on the road were the under 13’s, who traveled to Crannford, Co. Wexford to play the local under 14 side while the under 11’s hosted Naas.  Finally, the under 14’s had Feile victories over Whitehall Colmcilles (Saturday) and Na Fianna (Sunday).  Both games were played in Pairc de Burca. Minors face tough opposition

In Moibhi Road the minor A’s lost their league game to Na Fianna by 1-6 to 0-7.  Crokes trailed 1-3 to 0-2 at half time by virtue of a late Na Fianna goal.  The visitors did not score for the first fifteen minutes of the second half and while they finished strongly the homesters were deserving winners.  At home in Silverpark the B’s fought well before going under by three points to Naomh Olaf.

Seniors go down to Clonkill

On Sunday evening the seniors traveled to Clonkill, Co. Westmeath for their second Leinster Senior League tie.  Crokes were unable to match the home team’s superior physicality and ended up on the wrong side of a 3-12 to 2-7 scoreline.  At the break Clonkill led 2-6 to 1-6.

Team: MacDara O'Hogain, Adrian Grogan, Dave Mahony, Willie Ryan, Eoin De Paor, Aodhan De Paor, Damien Byrne, Brian Motherway, Alan Tiernan, Fergus Garvey, Neil Casey, Barry O'Rorke, Eoin Fitzgerald, Donal McGovern, Niall Butler

Punchestown Corporate Race Day

The new Hurling Arena in Glenalbyn was built at a cost of €500,000 and will be a huge addition to hurling in the club.  It is entirely funded by the Hurling Section and we still have some way to go.

Our fifth annual Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Corporate Race Day takes place in Punchestown on Tuesday 22nd April 2008 and proceeds go towards the cost of the Arena.  The event has gone from success to success and bookings are now being taken.  Donations or spot prizes remain very welcome.  Please contact Brian Geraghty, Hurling Section, Commercial Officer, 087-2312378 and brianpgeraghty@eircom.net.
