U21 All Ireland Final

In Croke Park on Sunday Ross O’Carroll represented the club on the Dublin Under 21 team in the All-Ireland final.  Although forced to give way to a highly accomplished Galway outfit this was a very successful year for the Dubs and augurs well for the future.  As well as congratulating Ross and all involved our thoughts go out to Shane O’Rorke whose injury misfortunes deprived him of a place on the panel.  A large body of youngsters from the club attended the final and no doubt some of them will grace the stage in the not too distant future.

Seniors draw with St Martins of Wexford

Earlier in the day the seniors completed their championship preparations with a 3-15 to 2-18 draw against St Martins of Wexford in a challenge at Pairc de Burca.  Level 1-8 apiece at half time, when the visitors, spearheaded by Wexford players, Eoin Quigley, Diarmuid Lyng, Rory McCarthy and Barry Lambert, went into a seven point lead within ten minutes of the resumption things looked bleak for Crokes.  However, the home side stuck to their task and at the death it was the Wexford men who were relieved to salvage the draw.
