Kilmacud Crokes Camogie textile recycling fundraising event 2022

Body

Kilmacud Crokes Camogie section regularly organise textile recycling fundraising events. Our last one on  1st & 2nd April managed to collect 1250kg of textiles, aside from being an important source of income for Camogie in the club, it also diverts from landfill, reduces pollution and environmental harm as well as freeing up space in the wardrobe!

This year we decided to collect unused equipment and club gear to recycle within the club.  Over the two day we received 20 hurleys, 12 helmets, 6 pairs of boots and a lot of jerseys, tracksuits, hoodies and jackets etc…

Kilmacud Crokes is at the heart of the community and we are welcoming a number Ukranians children into the club, they will be participating in our Easter Camp at the club and the gear donated will help equip our Ukrainian friends in suitable gear and dress them in the famous Purple & Gold jersey.

We would like to thank all the members who gave so generously to the collection, Cill Mochuda na Crócaigh Abú!
