Kilmacud WEEE Mini All-Irelands 2013

Body

The annual Kilmacud Mini All-Irelands in both Camogie and Ladies Football were held from June 3rd to 7th, and featured over 200 girls playing Camogie and about 240 playing Ladies Football. All round, it was a wonderful week of fun and excitement. The weather gods were extremely kind, and the show went off like clockwork. This allowed all the girls to concentrate on enjoying themselves playing the games and mixing with their friends, both old and new. It was also a wonderful week for the many parents who attended to support their daughters.

This was especially true of the finals night on the Friday. Each group of matches was preceded by a piper leading the teams onto the pitches. After the games, there were medal ceremonies and a barbeque to enjoy. And all this in the company of many hundreds of parents on a warm, sunny evening.

The occasion also served to introduce the new club sponsor, WEEE Ireland, to such a large group of young players and their parents. The WEEE team that arrived, with Bo Browne at the helm, made a huge contribution to the evening. They brought in their van with its large display, which livened up the proceedings. They set up a peep board and conducted fun activities. While the girls were between games, many, many made their way over to the WEEE section and enjoyed these events. Of course, such a massive undertaking as this does not just happen. We would like to sincerely thank all the managers, pitch co-ordinators, referees, those who helped with the barbeque, the shirts and the cleanup. But most of all, we would like to thank Paraic and Niall for another job well done. Thanks everyone!
