Connecting with Seniors at Christmas

As we continue to adapt our lifestyles to deal with the challenges of Covid,  we are aware that Christmas may be especially difficult for some members and others in our community.   If you know of someone who needs help, please reach out.

Earlier this year Club Volunteers took part in a nationwide campaign providing support in the community and  assisted over 200 people living nearby.  As Christmas approaches, we plan to once again make contact with seniors and others in our Club and local community.  Local schoolchildren will make Christmas cards and we will deliver these along with a small gift, DLRCC activity booklet and information about Club activities they may wish to participate in during 2021;  e.g. Gardening Club,  Home Exercise (per DLRCC activity booklet),  Medical information provided by local GP and Physiotherapist,  Mindfulness practices (outdoor). Social Cycling along some of DLRCC’s new cycling lanes to local villages and Walking all currently under consideration

If you wish to nominate someone* to receive one of our ‘packs’, please provide us with their name and address and we will be happy to include them.

*Names and addresses may be provided by phoning 01 288 0857 between 10 am and 1 pm or by emailing crokescommunity@gmail.com

Finally, all of us here in the Healthy Club Committee urge you to mind your wellbeing and extend our very best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a good year in 2021.
