OVER 2,000 GIRLS & BOYS TO TAKE PART IN 2023 KILMACUD CROKES MINI-ALL IRELAND BLITZ COMPETITIONS

Dublin club holds its annual competitions aimed at promoting Gaelic  Games in its local community.

Dublin, Monday, 15 May 2023: Kilmacud Crokes GAA Club is delighted to announce the return of its annual Mini All-Irelands Blitz competitions. Every week for four weeks, from May 29 th , the South Dublin club will hold a blitz competition for boys and girls aged between 5 and 12, in each of the four Gaelic Games codes of camogie, football, ladies football and hurling.

Taking place on Kilmacud Crokes recently upgraded home pitch of Páirc de Búrca, the competitions which will see more than 2,000 children play midweek matches culminating in a finale evening every Friday, support the club’s ambition of promoting Gaelic Games in Dublin.

The blitz competitions also serve to showcase the many ways in which, clubs such as Kilmacud Crokes can help sustain a lifetime of involvement in Gaelic Games, on and off the field of play. All the manager and coach, referee roles are fulfilled by young people from within Kilmacud Club supported by some of the dozens of adult volunteers.


The Mini-All Ireland Blitz Competitions are facilitated by support from club sponsors, Beacon Hospital as well as Spirit Motors and the Clayton Hotel. A much-loved feature of the Mini All-Ireland Blitz Competitions are the jerseys worn by participants. This year Kilmacud Crokes have developed a vibrant new Mini All-Ireland County jersey representing some of Ireland’s best known county teams, that will be worn by all the players and managers.

Speaking at the launch of the Mini All-Irelands, club chairperson, Joan Kehoe commented: “I’m delighted to be here today in Glenalbyn to launch our annual Mini All-Irelands. The blitz competitions are hugely popular with our younger members and their families allowing them to showcase their skills and talents in front of friends
and family on our home ground of Páirc de Búrca in a fun and relaxed environment. We are very grateful to our club sponsor, Beacon Hospital, as well as to Spirit Motor Group and Clayton Hotel Leopardstown, for the continued support that enables us to host and run this important community event.”

Registration is open to non-members.
