VOLKSWAGEN EXPANDS FURTHER IN SEVENS GAA

Leading car manufacturer signs exclusive sponsorship agreement with prestigious Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland Senior FOOTBALL Sevens competition

The past met the present in Glenalbyn with Dublin Goal hero, Paul Mannion being joined by fellow stars, Bernard Brogan and Cian O'Sullivan.

They bumped into 2002 Allstar Ray Cosgrove and FORMER WESTMEATH MANAGER, KERRYMAN TOMÁS O'FLAHARTA.

The tournament, now in its 43rd year, remains the most prestigious GAA sevens tournament in Ireland with extensive interest already generated by clubs around the country.  The cup resides in our own club house and we hope our young team can keep it here !

Volkswagen will be supporting this sponsorship with a fully integrated, experiential match day schedule of events, product placement as well an innovative Volkswagen Live GAA TV whereby every goal scored across all the games will be shared across all social media platforms as well as the big screen in Kilmacud Crokes.

Throw in for the first game takes place at 11AM IN EACH OF THREE VENUES,  on Saturday 17th and each team will play a minimum of three games before the winners advance towards the final event which takes place that evening in front of a full house of Sevens' supporters.

Paul O’Sullivan, Head of Marketing of Volkswagen Ireland said, “We were delighted to begin our association with the GAA last year through the All-Ireland Junior Sevens and felt that the All-Ireland Senior competition was a natural fit in terms of strengthening our ties with the local GAA communities across Ireland. The Kilmacud Crokes Senior Sevens is a competition that is revered across the country and some of the finest footballers in Ireland have played and will continue to play in the competition this year. We are honoured to be supporting the tournament in 2016 and beyond.

Volkwagen is Ireland’s leading car supplier and has a proven track record with the GAA as it currently sponsors the All Ireland Junior Sevens competition in association with St. Judes GAA club.
