BOTH U21 TEAMS THROUGH TO CHAMP FINAL

10/12/11 UPDATE - despite the absence of Craig Dias and Alan Carr, both exam-tied, our A team easily accounted for Plunketts with another convincing display.  The groundwork was laid in the first half with a Dillon Mulligan goal after 10 minutes and some glorious points from the excellent Paul Mannion.  Plunketts fought back in the 2nd half as expected but found the terrier-like Crokes defence in top form.  A David Kilgallon goal was the final nail in the Northsider's coffin.  Final score: 2-11 to 0-6.  In Silverpark, the B team had 5 points to spare over Ballyboden in the other semi (2-7 to 1-8).  Great achievement all round lads - the future looks very exciting for the club!

The A team await the winners of Na Fianna v B'boden/Ballymun in the final which could be played next week-end (TBC); the B team will play Na Fianna.  Details of both finals will be posted on this web-site as soon as they are known.

3/12/11: Following impressive wins last weekend, against Lucan and St. Judes respectively, our two U21 Football teams have progressed to the semi-final stages of the Dublin championship.  Mick Leahy's "A-Team" tackle Oliver Plunketts while Jocky O'Callaghan's charges take on Ballyboden in Group D.  Both games are listed for Kilmacud venues at 2.15pm on Saturday next but final confirmation is awaited - see our Fixtures section to check for any change to time or venue which will be reflected there when known.

Click on the Evening Herald logo to read a detailed match report of the Lucan game which featured so many top class individual displays as well as an all-round balanced and committed team performance.  All of our key men played well, including Craig Dias and Brian Hanamy (pictured left).  It was good to see our Dublin minor duo - David Campbell and Paul Mannion (pictured below) - and the dynamic Michael Durcan slot into the team effortlessly.  Well done boys - great show.  Every good wish to both teams in the semis!
