BRYANSFORD CROWNED 2011 SEVENS CHAMPIONSBryansford were the winners of the 2011 Blue September Kilmacud All Ireland Sevens champions (having last won the title in 1994). 1994. Brendan Corrigan's beat their Down neighbours by 1-15 to 2-11 in a high quality encounter. Bryansford scored a goal in the first minute a goal  (Ciaran Brannigan), but Castlewellan’s Kevin Duffin also goaled with Castlewellan leading by 1-7 to 1-6 at the break.

Bryansford started the second half with all guns blazing and points from captain Jim Magorrian, Chris Clark and Ciaran Brannigan put them in front. Later, Castlewellan cut the deficit to a point with goalkeeper Colm Óg Crilly goaling, but Bryansford held their nerve to win by 1-15 to 2-11 to take the title.

Afterwards Jim Magorrian was presented the cup the cup by Martin Skelly the Leinster GAA Chairman , with Ciaran Brannigan winning the Player of the Tournament award.

Bryansford had earlier beaten another Down side Longstone by 3-10 to 1-14 in the semi-final, with Castlewellan 2-11 to 1-8 winners over Coleraine in the other semi. 2010 champions St Galls, Antrim were beaten in the quarter-final stage 3-10 to 0-6 by Castlewellan. Six of the eight quarter-finalists were from Ulster with Kilmacud Crokes and Ballymun Kickhams completing the line up. Kilmacud Crokes were beaten by 4-8 to 0-13 by Coleraine. Whereas it t took penalties to separate Longstone and Ballymun Kickhams after a 2-8 to 0-14 full-time scoreline after Ambrose Rogers goaled twice at the death.  The Down side then won a penalty shoot out by 2-0 to 1-1. Bryansford beat Glenullin, Derry by 3-13 to 1-10.
