In a keenly fought tournament the boys played 9 games over the course of the day in scorching heat and won all 9 games. To underline what a hard won event this was, 5 of the games were won by one score only.

Teams Crokes got the better of was like a "who's who" of well known Northern clubs including Mayobridge ,Clonduff , Magerafelt, Castlewellan and in a superb final The Burren were beaten 1-4 to 0-3. An incredible statistic was the lads conceded only 2 goals in 9 games !

Crokes U/11s (2004) on the double in Donabate!

Kilmacud Crokes u/11 footballers put in a great day's football at the St Patricks Donabate tournament on Saturday , June 14th. Two panels travelled to this very well run event , competing in both the 'A' and 'B' tournaments on a beautiful sunny day.

In the 'B ' tournament our lads won their 3 group games comfortably against St Pat's, Newbridge Sars and Naomh Barrog leaving them in a semi final against St Vincents. The boys played really well to come out on top by 7pts against our Northside foes. In the final they faced our hosts St Pat's again and the group result was repeated with an even better display.

In the "A" tournament our lads started off with a whirlwind start to lead 4-4 to 0-1 at half time against a decent Skerries Harps team. Final score was 4-6 to 0-6.

Our next game was against old rivals Ballyboden and in an excellent game of football between 2 evenly matched teams we came out on top 1-4 to 1-1. We won our last group game comfortably 6-9 to 0-2 against Naomh Barrog.

We faced the hosts in the semi final and a 4-10 to 0-3 victory was achieved after a tight 1st half. Expecting to be meeting Boden in the final we were surprised to find Newbridge as our opponents. We should not have been as they had previously beaten us in a tournament final. Against a very big and strong Newbridge side our lads tore into them and their superior skills eventually won out over power and strength leaving a final score of 3-7 to 1-1.

The boys involved in the 2 squads: Charlie Shakespeare, Danny Killeen, Dan Murphy, Rory O Kane, Conan McSweeney, Eoin Keys , Patrick Keys , Oliver Coffey, Enda Kickam, Thomas Downey , Louis McGauran, James Hamill , Davy Colbert, Luke O Gorman ,Andrew Dillon , Tomas Noone, John Gilsenan, Dave Hyland , Rory O Shea ,Shane Brady , Sean Bradley , Thomas Doran ,Adam Fearon , Gavin Bermingham ,Joe Broderick , Joe Quigley.

Well done to all the boys on doing Crokes proud!
