CROKES GOLF SOCIETY - CAPTAINS DAY REPORT / PHOTOS

Kilmacud Crokes Golf Society.

The first Major of the year, Martin McDermott's Captain's Prize took place last Fri. in Woodbrook Golf Club. A large turnout enjoyed a great day's golf on a pleasant Friday afternoon on a first class golf course.

Early reports suggested that Nicky McGrath was setting the pace and indeed was the leader in the Clubhouse for most of the afternoon. By the time the last four-ball came in attention switched to Hugh Finlay and Conor Noone, who was pipped by one point last year. Later when the score cards were scrutinised and the scores counted Conor Noone had indeed gone one better than last year and with a score of 37 points was the winner of the Captain's Prize.

Back in Glenalbyn on Friday night, we were joined by our special guests Yvonne Clancy and Phil Kiernan.  Michael Kinsella and his staff provided an excellent meal for all.

Martin Mc Dermott presented his Captain's Prize to Conor Noone and presented the many other prizes won on the day. Prizes won earlier this year were also presented on the night; the Jack Bradley Cup (Tulfarris) and the Myles Clancy Cup (Rathcore) - scroll down for the full list.

Some photos from the presentation can be viewed below.
