Football Section Strategic Plan Update

As members will likely recall, the football section held a number strategy workshop sessions in Q4’2015.  The Football Committee wanted to re-connect with members to give you a status update on some of the line items from the strategy document developed from those sessions. Please see the attached update as at March 2017 and the overall plan document.  As we begin another football season, the strategy document is being actively used to drive the agenda for the committee and the overall section.   We have made good progress on a number of fronts and will continue to focus on the suggestions which came from the workshop to drive development and improvement in the section.   We have just closed out on the final membership renewals and registrations for all the players and teams for the 2017 season. Teams are up and running and performing well.  It’s hard to believe that the championship has started for some teams. Our Senior team had a good win in the 1st round against Eirn's Isle. The monthly manager meetings are up and running and a very successful White Collar Boxing fund raising event was completed with the hurlers.  A medal presentation event was completed to recognise our successful Under 21’s from last year and our Junior championship winning team.  Our Feile teams, while not progressing to the final stages of the tournament represented the club well and can be proud of their performances.  It’s great to see 6 representatives from the club on the Dublin Under 21 squad who have qualified for the All Ireland final on Sat 29 April.  Likewise, as a club we can take pride in the performances of Paul Mannion and Cian O’ Sullivan for Dublin in the recent League final against Kerry.  We would like to wish all players, teams and management well for the season ahead and are eternally grateful for the volunteer support which is at the heart of running the section.
