Gerry Collins Memorial Football Tournament

Saturday July 19th 2014

A phenomenal 140 Crokes men played in the Gerry Collins Memorial Cup on Saturday July 19th.  12 teams lined out which included a selection of Minors, Juniors, Seniors and retired players. Well done to all those that played, managed, the volunteers, the organisers and the large number of supporters at a great event. The special event was held in partnership with the HSE's Quit Smoking Campaign and Bank of Ireland.

Gerry was honoured not alone for his contribution to the club over his long association with us, but also for his immense contribution to the 'Quit Smoking' Campaign. Gerry's very powerful anti-smoking adverts have encouraged over 100,000 people to quit smoking  this year  alone

The event was won by the 'Red Hand Command Team' captained by James Murphy and managed by Niall Muldoon.

Michael Kinsella of the Village Café and Bars provided Bar & Bar-B-Q at pitchside as well as the main bar which added to a spectacular day. Live Music was provided by Gerry's former group, The Upbeats led by John Kelly and friends
