Magee family at the heart of Kilmacud Crokes

Magee family at the heart of Kilmacud Crokes

As tomorrow's big game edges closer there is, rightly, huge focus on the club role within the GAA and the volunteerism of so many that make it really special.  All clubs can speak of famous families and sets of siblings that mark the GAA apart, especially in the modern era where professionalism permeates sport and loyalty suffers almost proportionately.  Crokes are no different with stalwart club people like James and Daisy Magee, their two sons Johnny and Darren, daughter Denise and now little Lauren.

Tom Humphries wrote a lovely piece in the Irish Times last Saturday on Kilmacud and the Magee brothers.  It's well worth a read if you haven't already seen it.  We couldn't have put it better ourselves!

Best wishes from everyone in the club to the Magees, O'Rorkes, O'Carrolls, McGraths, Lambs, Burkes and all the other families directly involved with the team tomorrow - special people one and all.
