Both players & supporters were blessed with a beautiful dry morning apart from a fairly strong breeze.

Kilmacud won the toss and played with the breeze in the first half. Following some very good defensive play from both sides, Kilmacud opened the scoring with a point from James Dillon. Soon after, Castleknock responded with a goal from a rebound. Kilmacud continued to use the wind to good advantage and had a lot of possession thanks to midfielders Oisin Donnelly and Jack Fitzgerald with Ben Smith playing a supportive 'sweeper' role. Kilmacud added points through James Weldon Barr, James Dillon and Ben Smith to leave the score 1-01 to 0-5. From the outset, Oisin Murray and Anthony Quinn pressurised the Castleknock kick out. This constant pressure paid dividends when the alert Oisin Murray intercepted a kick out and as he headed towards goal he was fouled, with Jack Gallagher converting the free. The Kilmacud half back line of Conor Nyland, Art lynch and Patrick O'Donnell worked tirelessly to keep the Castleknock forwards at bay and when Patrick O'Donnell was brought to ground as he set up an attack, Jack Gallagher converted the free kick. Crokes finished the first half very strong with a goal from Man of the Match James Weldon Barr and a point from Anthony Quinn. Half time score: 1-01 to 1-09.

Castleknock started the second half strong with the advantage of the wind and scored the first point. The Crokes full back line of Chris Farrell, Arron Murphy and Conor Cassidy put in very strong performances to frustrate and deny the opposition any clean possession. Crokes goalkeeper was heroic throughout with a very safe pair of hands and great kick outs. Substitute Henry O'Donnell, younger brother of Patrick, came on for Oisin Murray and was in the right place to finish to the net following some great support play. While Castleknock kept the pressure on with some well taken points, Henry O'Donnell added another goal and a point to put Kilmacud in a very strong position. Subs: Barry McGowan & Niall Bezeci worked very hard up front when they came in for Jack Gallagher and Patrick O' Donnell. Kilmacud brought on more fresh legs in Hugh Keane & Gearoid Gallagher for Anthony Quinn & James Dillon. Castleknock had now got the score to 1-06 and it was all hands on deck as they forced a great save from Nathan Slattery from a free kick. Castleknock put another free over late in the game to bring the final score to Castleknock 1-07: Kilmacud Crokes 3-10.

This was a superb display of teamwork to get a great win and take the U15 championship cup back to Glenalbyn.

Kilmacud Scorers: Henry O'Donnell 2-01; James Weldon Barr 1-02; James Dillon 0-3; Jack Gallagher 0-2 (Frees); Ben Smith 0-1; Anthony Quinn 0-1.
