Beano's boys got their league campaign off to a winning start with a 7 point victory against Thomas Davis.
Played in very difficult conditions we always looked as if we had enough in reserve to deal with anything the opposition might throw at us.
A number of players were making their debuts as first year minors and all acquitted themselves well with Niall O'Leary and Liam Flatman playing particularly well. With a number of established players on the bench this shows the strength in depth within the squad.
Matt Barry had the honour of the opening score and further points from the ever available Dan O'Brien left the score at 3pts each after 15 minutes. Our next three scores were all goals. A superb solo effort from Jack Gallagher, a well worked move finished off by versatile corner forward Paul Leonard and a third from Dan O'Brien left the half time score at Crokes 3-5 Thomas D 1-4
In the second half an early goal by Hugh Kenny suggested that the game was over but Thomas D never gave up and got within 5 points. It could have been closer but for an excellent save from keeper Nathan Slattery. However we finished the stronger and points from Sean Conroy, Niall O'Leary and the hard working Adam Kelly left the final score at Crokes 4-11 Thomas D 2-10
