Minor Championship, last group game and Crokes were up against St. Bridgets. With two wins under their belts to date against Clontarf and Vincents, Crokes really fancied their chances for this one. The action was frantic from the 1st whistle and while Bridgets enjoyed dominance in the first 20mins, Crokes were struggling to get the ball up the field into their forwards. Eventually a well worked movement up the middle and a pass outside, saw the ball slipped passed the Bridgets keeper and into the back of the net. This saw Crokes notch up their 1st score of the match. With a deceiving wind against them and a half time score of 1-7 to 1-1 things were not looking good.

Learning from their mistakes in the 1st half and spurred on by a strong halftime talk from a management team with huge belief in their players, Crokes started to dominate proceedings. From the throw in and with some great midfield dominance they played with a great sense of purpose. The speed of movement of both man and ball from the backs up through midfield saw every player working hard for each other. With some wonderful passing of the ball, where Crokes showed their skill and fitness, they found the back of the net again. There was some great free taking and this saw the game drawn level. Crokes went on to score some more wonderful points and with the final whistle, Crokes finished worthy winners with a score line of 2-10 to 1-9 and deservedly topped their group.
