a goal from a long ball played in over the Crokes defence. This proved to be
the last score for St Pauls with Tom Stakelum, Denis Murray and Rory Smith very

Kilmacud Crokes 3-6 V Douglas 0-2
The final group match was contested against Douglas
from Cork who are currently positioned at the top of Division 1 in
the Cork Central Football League. It looked that they would provide sterner
opposition. Kilmacud started well with Liam Reddy scoring a point to put the
Stillorgan boys in front. Douglas responded well with 2 points to take the
lead. However, any thoughts that this would be a close game were soon dispelled
when Croke rattled out a string of unanswered scores with a goal and 2 points
from Fionn Ó Ceallaigh followed by further goals from Connor Kinsella and
Brian Morton and nicely taken points from Niall Comerford, Anthony Quinn and
Padraig Lenihan giving the Kilmacud team a comfortable lead and leaving no way
back for Douglas. Again our defence was very good – with excellent
second half performances from Stephen Dunne, Rory Smith, Colin Veale, Daniel
Kelly and Cormac Keys.
The other group was won by Churchill of Kerry who defeated Moorefield of Kildare in their final game to claim a place in the final. We all tucked into a lovely curry and rice dinner provided by our hosts before decamping to St.Conleths Park, Newbridge for the final.
