Match Reports

In the first game KC1 proved too strong for their old rivals producing a great display of football from start to finish. The defending was tigerish as evidenced by B/dens return and the forward play and shooting, particularly in the second half was a pleasure for all those who witnessed it. After a close first half when the scores were tied, KC1 pulled away for a most deserved victory. Congratulations to John, Tom,James, Danny , Eoin, Gavin, Theo, Luke, Louis and captain for the day Rory.

Crokes U9's Team B versus Ballyboden:

Team: Hugh Duffy, Mathew Blanker, Dylan Saunders, Eoin Kenny, Jamie O'Shea, Hugh Kearney, Jack Higgins, Ryan Bracken, Jack Burke, Michael Foley. Up against a very strong Ballyboden team, Kilmacud Crokes fought hard to stay in contention in the first half. Trailing by a goal and 5 points at half time, Crokes persevered strongly to come back with 4 excellent points and 4 'skill' points in the second half. The team can take a lot of encouragement from playing against what will surely be the strongest team they will face this season. They out scored their opponents 7 to 1 on the skills points which is a great sign.To a boy they never gave up.Well done lads and congrats to Jamie for being captain for the day.

KC1B V Ballyboden

This was the first time some off the boys played together so it was a hard start for the boys this morning but after ten minutes or so they managed to organise themselves well. Ballyboden put out a very strong team and controlled much of the first half some long range points from Balyyboden put them ahead at the end of the first half. Our backs kept the score down with very hard work and supported from our mids. Forwards had a quiet first half but managed to put away one goal. At half time we asked the lads to concentrate on blocking and accurate passing. We found our way in the second half, won free kicks, passed well and scored one goal and two points, however Ballybodens defence was very strong and they managed to keep our scoring lower than we would have liked.

Well done to captain Cian, Rory, Ryan, Keelin, Sean, Shane, Vova, Diarmuid, Tom, Evan and Gearoid.
