2012 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP - PROJECT 'TREASURE TROVE'

Body

In celebration of our fantastic Senior Team clinching the Championship, Kilmacud Crokes Hurling are pleased to announce a competition commemorating this amazing achievement.

27 years have elapsed since Kilmacud Crokes were last successful in the Championship. That wait certainly whetted the appetite all the more for what transpired on the 14th October 2012. So many people turned up on the day to show their support for the team, their club and parish and it was very obvious that the result really means a lot to the hurling family in Kilmacud Crokes.

It is right and fitting that the club ensures that memories of that great day are captured and kept forever as a momento of the occasion.

So, in recognition of this, the Hurling Committee have decided to provide the club members with a chance to express what it means to them, in the form of a competition:

Project Treasure Trove

All you have to do is submit your favourite memory of the day, or lead up to the day in the form of photographs, paintings, sketches, poems, songs, stories, collages, videos etc. by 5pm on Friday 2nd November to be in with a chance to win some cool prizes (Details on those later!). The only entry criteria is that you have to be a paid up member.

There will be a number of age categories to ensure that all of the hurling family get to play and have a chance of winning.

  • U5 – U7
  • U8 – U10
  • U11 – U13
  • U14 – U16
  • Adult

Just submit your digital entries to 2012champions@kilmacudcrokes-hurling.com and there will be an entry box in the bar to receive all other submissions from Monday 29th October.

This is a great opportunity for our younger members to get involved and be part of that amazing result. We would ask that a special effort is put in to encourage them to particpate in some way in this competition. We would dearly love to see their pictures, collages, cards etc on display in the club.

Obviously, entries will not be returned after the competition as the ultimate goal is to create a Treasure Trove for future hurlers to pore over in years to come. They may be published on this website and/or displayed in the club for public viewing.

Best of luck!

If you have any queries, please use the email address above and we will get back to you asap.
