Berkeley Ball Event a roaring success!

Body

Crokes hosted a fantastic 'Berkeley Ball' in the Clubhouse last Sunday night (20 Dec). See latest photos published in the Gazette (14 Jan)!!

The Black Tie event evolved from an idea by our own Molly Lamb and was a great success.  Almost 400 young adults gathered in solidarity with friends affected by the tragedy and enjoyed a night of great company and entertainment.  Attendees included Aoife Beary, Clodagh Cogley, Niall Murray and others who were in Berkeley.  A brilliant atmosphere prevailed and the camaraderie among partygoers was a privilege to be part of.

Thank you!

While 'being there' as a show of support mattered mostly, thanks to so many attending, the participation of volunteers and the generosity of sponsors, in the region of €12k was raised and will be directed into an initiative for those affected.

Members and friends did the Club proud by volunteering and many many hours were spent... selling tickets (an instant sellout thanks to 10 'distributors'), promoting the event on line (Club) seeking sponsorship (Jurys Inn sponsored Band and expenses) decorating the venue (handmade decorations looked amazing), making canapes (fantastic selection and lots of them), 'manning' entrances (great humour and interraction with guests), patrolling the grounds (a cold night and, again, great humour and banter with guests), taking photographs (over 1,100 taken in 'challenging' conditions!), supervising the Cloakroom (busy all night), dealing with queries (Club office), playing music and balancing the finances (a success after locating the final elusive €100!).

Thanks to everyone involved
