Classic in the Paddock!

Body

On a bitingly cold morning in the Paddock, when all sane people were still snuggled up under their duvets and blankets, the U14 hurlers took on the illustrious....... parents... many of whom had been hard at it, training, all week. In a game of three halves (talk to the ref on this one), the game ebbed, and then ebbed some more!

While the youngsters had the benefit of the wind, the hill (most of the parents were over it) and not least a hard year's tough competition to hone their competitive skills, the parents had, eh, the ref! Although billed as a friendly, there was still some bite in the tackles, with no quarter asked for or given, and lots of rough and tumble, together with some staggering and stumbling by the older participants! One of the highlights of an already exciting game was the appearance, despite the bitterly cold chill, of Gearoid McGabhann's legs, much to the amusement of the enthusiatic crowd, and both teams!

The third half finished.

The game ended with a 14-22 win for the parents, to 16-16 to the U14s.. A fabulous win
