Anyone interested in getting involved on behalf of Kilmacud Crokes Hurling please contact Tom Barry, Chairman, 087-2200527.

Dear Secretary,

A lot of people switch off when they hear the words “strategic” and “planning” and even worse when they are used together in the same sentence!

Please read on..................

The Dublin County Committee are preparing a Strategic Plan 2010 - 2015 for publication in November 2010 and will be appointing a number of sub-committees and focus groups to assist us in our work. It was agreed that we should extend an invitation to all clubs to nominate individuals to serve on these sub-committees / focus groups to ensure that we have a balanced representative cross-section from all units. The Strategic Planning Committee has asked me to request clubs to nominate individuals who have never served on an Adult or Juvenile Committee within the County (Delegates / Board and Club Officers will be consulted at a later stage). Currently we have established 5 sub-committees who have a number of areas of focus.

The five sub committees are: -

  • Activities based on games, participation, player/coach/referee development
  • Funding based on financial excellence, budgeting, funding, marketing/commercial strategy
  • Club Development based on volunteer recruitment, community, inclusion, club/school links, new clubs
  • Support Services based on communication strategy, volunteer development
  • Infrastructure based on county needs analysis, evaluation and project management

I would be obliged if you would nominate a member (s) from your club who have an expertise in any of these areas and would be willing to commit to attending a number of meetings (6 - 8) over the next few months.

I would appreciate a response by Friday 30th April.

Kind regards,

John Costello, Secretary.
