Dublin Hurlers beat Dubs Stars despite late rally
Large turnout for re-scheduled Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars matches in Glenalbyn!
Although the weather was a little threatening, Páirc de Búrca - and Glenalbyn generally - looked resplendent on Sunday 31 January. A mammoth volunteer effort by Kilmacud Crokes members meant we were well prepared to welcome the Dublin Senior Hurlers and Footballers, the Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars, together with legions of fans to the home of hurling and football in South County Dublin!
First up were the hurlers, with Dublin fresh from their Walsh Cup victory over Wexford in Croke Park on Saturday! Despite a late rally by the Dubs Stars Dublin managed to hold on for a four point victory. There was a fair sprinking of Crokes players on both teams, including Ross O Carroll, Cian MacGabhann, Seanie McGrath, Barry Mulligan, Ronan Walsh, Mark McCallion, Tadgh Murphy, Rob Murphy, Lorcan McMullan and Jack Doughan.
Afterwards the footballers served up another feast for the large attendance, with that match ending all square; Dubs Stars 1-17, Dublin 2-14. More about this match click HERE.
All in all a great day for Dublin Hurling and Football - and for Kilmacud Crokes. Thanks to all those who made this a wonderful success!
