An excellent all round team performance was rewarded with a thoroughly deserved, double score, 4-8 to 2-4 victory having led 4-4 to 2-2 at half time. Weather conditions were good if a little overcast. This was an excellent workout for the team led by a man of the match performance by captain Niall Sweeney. Other star performers on the day were Stephen Barr, Paul Comerford, Richard Course & Cillian O’Shea. Kevin Browne followed his debut goal of two weeks previous with another goal – so Kevin you know what is expected of you from now on! Tadhg contributed 4 points including two marvellous points from sideline cuts in the 1st half – one from the left & one from the right. Top scorer was Paul Comerford with 1-3 and the scoring was rounded off with goals from Andrew Liffey, Kevin Culligan and a point from the outstanding Stephen Barr. Ruairi Geraghty cleared his lines very well on a number of occasions. Above all this was a victory for excellent teamwork by all 19 players against a very good Naomh Barrog team.
