Bad weather forces concesson of home advantage.

The Minor B's headed over to play St Judes in their second round of the league, unfortunately all the home pitches were closed so we had to concede home advantage.  The resulting game defied the soft pitch & cold windy conditions and produced a high standard hurling competition.  The opening half was owned by Crokes but unfortunately we could not convert our possession dominance into scores and Judes were able to convert their opportunities. At the half time whistle, Crokes were trailing 1-1 to 3-3.

In the second half, Crokes tightened up their defence and the second half was a much tighter affair.  Excellent free taking from Paul saw Crokes keep in touch, but again Crokes failed to convert their possession into scores from play.  Both sides produced some excellent hurling.  In the end Crokes lost 2-5 to 4-9, the three goals conceded in the first half being the main difference between the sides.

This was a much improved performance from Crokes compared to the first outing, despite the cold & the soft pitch, the players gave their all, added to that, rumour has it that Kevin Coakley was spotted smiling afterwards!

The next game is four weeks away, when we travel away to Clontarf.
