Game 1 Final Score Kilmacud Crokes B 0-7 Naomh Olaf A 2-3

Kilmacud Crokes started well and dominated the early stages with points from Eoin Keyes, Mark O’Reilly and Stephen McMahon. Crokes stayed in control with a pointed free from Robert Breen and another point from Stephen McMahon. Towards the end of the half Olafs came back at us and were fortunate to score 2 goals before half time.

HT KC 0-5 NO 2-0.

Olafs came out stronger in the second half and scored 2 quick points but Crokes fought back with 2 pointed frees from Euan Lacey. Crokes pressed hard and had several goal opportunities but just could not find the net. Olafs scored a point from a free just on the final whistle

Kilmacud scorers: Eoin Keyes 0-1, Mark O’Reilly 0-1, Stephen McMahon 0-2, Robert Breen 0-1 (1f), Euan Lacey 0-2 (2f)

Game 2 Final Score Kilmacud Crokes B 1-1 Fingalians A 3-10

Kilmacud were unlucky to concede a goal in the first minute against a very strong Fingallians team. However they picked up the pace and fought hard for the remainder of the half. Fingallians reasserted control and got a couple of goals before the end of the half. Highlights were a nice over the shoulder point from Euan Lacey and a goal from Robert Breen directly from a sideline cut on the 45 yard line!

HT KC 1-1 Fin 3-5.

Crokes played bravely to the end in the second half.

Kilmacud Scorers: Euan Lacey 0-1, Robert Breen 1-0 (sc)

Game 3 Final Score Kilmacud Crokes B 2-4 Erins Isle 4-7

Klimacud dominated the first half with the wind but found it difficult to get their scores. After a goal against the run of play for Erins Isle, Crokes came back into it with 2 points from Harry O’Sullivan (1 from a 65) and 1 from Rory Durant. We were caught for another goal towards the end of the half and Harry got a point from a free before the half time whistle blew.

HT KC 0-4 EI 2-0

Crokes played bravely against the wind after half time but conceded another goal midway through the half. This only spurred Crokes on. They fought back with a goal from Harry from a close in free. Then in what was probably the move of the day, Rory Durant played a beautiful looping handpass over the onrushing defence to Eoin Keyes in an acre of space on the edge of the square. Eoin duly turned and buried it in the net to level the match with only a few minutes remaining. Unfortunately, the days exertions and mounting injury count began to take its toll with Erins Isle adding a few scores before the final whistle.

Kilmacud scorers: Harry O’Sullivan 1-3 (1-1(f), 0-1(65)), Eoin Keyes 1-0, Rory Durant 0-1

All 19 available players made a great contribution to the play over the course of the 3 games, all of which were against club A Teams. The Fingallians team ended up as convincing winners in the final played in Parnell Park.

Special thanks to all parents and club members who helped out and supported us on the day. The boys finished the day tired but in good spirits and looking forward to the next challenge!
