Kilmacud Crokes Hurling School Of Excellence

Body

During the summer we had the privilege of once again joining forces with UCD to run what was a very successful “Hurling School of Excellence”. The School of Excellence was targeted at our U11 - U13 players with 53 of those players attending the camp over the week.

The aim of the Camp was to give players an opportunity to improve their Hurling skills & knowledge while also mixing and playing with players from other age groups. Throughout the week we had visits from Dublin Senior Inter County players Cian Boland, Ryan O’Dwyer and Chris Crummey. The lads provided our players with some sound advice and tips on ways of improving their game. They also ran some Hurling drills and games which our players thoroughly enjoyed.

We were also ably assisted by Kilmacud Crokes Senior Hurlers Bill O’Carroll, Naomhan Reardon & Michael Roche as well as Clara Senior Hurler John Murphy throughout the week. The lads did a superb job in demonstrating and coaching some of the key skills in Hurling.

Finally, I would especially like to thank UCD and Dominic O’Keeffe for the use of their facilities and pitches throughout the week.
