Excellent victory following exam break

The Minor B's headed into their seventh game of the league against Ballyboden St Enda's B team following the 5 week exam break.  The last outing was a disappointing loss to St Sylvestors.  With the bare 15, Crokes headed to Ballycullen to play on a pitch that was certainly not conducive to good hurling.  The opening fifteen minutes was a tight affair, with both sides trying to shake off the rust and both sides scoring three points each.  Crokes then started to dominate, led by a Paul Comerford goal which was quickly followed by a goal from Alex.  Crokes also added a further 5 points from Dan, Paul (3) & Alex , while the defence limited Ballyboden to two points.

At the half time whistle, Crokes had a healthy ten point lead, with a scoreline of 2-8 to 0-4.

In the second half, Crokes maintained their work rate and kept the scoreboard ticking over with two goals from Conor Gowing and points from Fiachra (4), Rory, Alex (2), Barney and Paul.  The defence also played well and kept Ballyboden scoreless until the last four minutes when they finally ran out of steam and conceded a goal and two points.    The defence were marshalled by Matt, Eoin & Sean in the fullback line, while the halfback line of Des, Peter & Eoin Sheehy all defended well while also driving good ball into the forwards.  At the final whistle, Crokes were commanding winners with a scoreline of 4-17 to 1-6.

The next game is on Sunday (30 June), a home game verses St Maurs
