Championship victory over robust St Davids

The Minor B's headed Northside to St David's CBS for their opening game in the Minor Division 2 Championship against St Davids (a combination of Parnells & Craobh Chiarain).  Playing against a strong wind, Crokes had the better of the first half but stout defending by St Davids limited Croke's scoring opportunities and at the half time whistle, Crokes led by three points with a scoreline of 2-02 to 0-05.

St Davids opened the second half with a bang, a well worked goal in the opening minute levelled the score, but that was to be their last score of the game, as the Crokes backs took control.  At the same time the Croke's forward upped their game and added 11 points (4 from frees), to finish the game with a 2-13 to 1-05 winning scoreline.

An important opening win,  but the next game in two weeks time against Ballinteer St Johns will be a much tougher proposition and Crokes will have to improve in a number of areas
