Minor B's Well On Top
The Minor B hurlers fulfilled their deferred Division 3 fixture versus St Peregines in the novel setting of Ballyogan on Thursday 30th June 2011.
The attractive backdrop of Three Rock Mountain, an encouraging sideline attendance and a surprisingly good turf served up an enjoyable mid-summer evening match.
Shortage of numbers meant the home management opted for thirteen a side. With five minutes on the first half clock the attendance was wondering if Crokes’ 0-9 to 0-2 advantage would be enough in the second half against a strong breeze. A further unanswered two goals and two points put daylight between the teams.
The Kilmacud lads did not let up and continued to pile on the scores. The game ended with Crokes 5-19 to 1-6 ahead. On a night when every Crokes player gave a good account throughout the pitch one of the standout events was an overhead pull to the net by Oisin O’Carroll in the fifty fourth minute, following his switch to attack.
