Minors bt Kevin's 2-13 to 0-05, 30 Aug 06

Body

On Wednesday 30th August 2006 the Kilmacud Crokes minor “A” hurlers had a good championship win over Kevins.

A hesitant start saw the opposition notch up the first two points.  Crokes clawed their way back and led by 5 points to 3 at half time despite missing several scoring opportunities.

In the second half Crokes upped their game although it still took some time to kill off the Kevins challenge and it was 20 minutes into the half before there were six points between the sides.  Admirable dead ball striking by Barry O’Rourke was a feature of this period.  Two late Crokes goals put the icing on the cake for a 2-13 to 0-5 victory.  Apart from their hurling the discipline of the Kilmacud youngsters in the face of severe provocation in a game that saw two Kevins players red carded was admirable.
