Oranmore Maree visit to Kilimacud Crokes 27th March 2011
Sun-drenched Deerpark was the venue for a re-match against Oranmore-Maree (Galway). The occasion of the Galway v Dublin senior League game was the backdrop to the invitation extended to Oranmore-Maree. This time last year the match was in Galway and KC U8s travelled to Galway where they played Oranmore Maree in Oranmore as part of a memorable week-end.
The throw-in was at 11:30am and there were 3 games of 40 minutes each. The games were evenly matched with Oranmore-Maree shading the contest overall. Afterwards, everybody congregated in the clubhouse where Fiona Hayes and other parents had a spread that blew everybody away. Mark Lohan thanked those that had travelled from Galway and all parents that had helped prepare the pitches and food. Pat Malone (2 All-Ireland medals to his name) thanked KC resoleved to make the tournament and annual event (to be held on the last week-end of every March).
