Report Week Ending 10 July 2011
The seniors were in league action twice. On Monday 4th July 2011 they defeated St Vincents by 4-10 to 1-7. For report see HERE. They followed this up on Saturday evening with a 1-13 to 2-8 win away to Naomh Mearnog. For report see HERE
The overall effect is that Crokes now have 16 AHL1 points and top the table (see below). With one regulation game left, scheduled for 23rd July at home against Lucan Sarsfields, a final place is very much within reach.

The Inters are also making good headway in AHL3. Wednesday 6th July 2011 saw them beat St Marks at Silverpark by 3-16 to 0-6. The first half ended with the Stillorgan side 2-8 to 0-4 ahead and at no stage in the second half was there a hint of a Marks revival. For report see HERE
With eleven points from eight of the regulation eleven matches and five teams still in contention the outcome is in our own hands. The remaining games are away against Round Towers (on Monday 11th July), Naomh Olafs (23rd July at home) and table toppers St Vincents scheduled for 13th August at home. See league table below.

The Junior A’s had a satisfactory opening on Thursday evening when they came away from Islandbridge with an 0-17 to 0-10 win over Civil Service. It was 0-6 each at half time. Service scored the second period opener but that was the only time they led. Some solid defensive work and excellent point taking were the keys to victory.
Islandbridge was an equally happy hunting ground for the Junior E’s on Tuesday evening in AHL8 when they enjoyed a 4-10 to 1-10 outcome against the public servants. At the interval it was 3-6 to 0-3. The Kilmacud side enjoyed a blistering start, headed by young tyros Paddy Tighe and Ciaran McIntyre up front. It took Service twenty minutes to score. By then Crokes had 3-4 on the board. The backs were also solid, especially the full back line of Ronan Egan, Damien McAuliffe and Niall McIntyre. For report see HERE
The same team saw further AHL8 action on Friday evening hosting Crumlin in Silverpark. The outcome was two further points in the bag, 2-10 to 1-8. For report see HERE
The minor A’s unbeaten Division 1 record remained intact after they overcame Ballinteer St Johns by 3-13 to 2-11 on Monday in Silverpark 2. Midway Crokes led 2-5 to 0-4. James Murphy, Robert Murphy, Oisin O’Rorke, Caolan Conway and Alex Pilkington had particularly good gamesThe same evening the minor B’s conceded to Raheny Division 3. In the curtain raiser at Silverpak 2 the under 14A’s were much too good for Ballyboden, prevailing 4-26 to 0-6. Eoin Sheehy, Martin Connor with a good goal, Alex Considine and Cathal Keane were to the van.
Both under 13 squads were in action. On Tuesday 5th July 2011 at home in Deerpark the under 13B’s won well against O’Tooles in League 4. The teams were level 1-3 each at half time. In the First Division, Friday 8th July 2011, took the under 13A’s to Albert College where they were well beaten by Na Fianna.
Thursday 7th July 2011 brought the under 14B’s to Portmarnock for a Second Division encounter with Naomh Mearnog. The home sided were 1-7 to 1-4 to the good after thirty minutes. An improved second half, during which the Crokes boys held their opposition scoreless, got them back to winning ways on a 1-12 to 1-7 conclusion. Best were Ciaran Hennessey, Marin Connor, Conal Keane and Joey Dalton.
On Sunday 10th July 2011 the under 14A hosted St Martins of Wexford on their way to the Leinster Senior Football Final. Although Crokes won 5-7 to 0-9 this was a much tighter game than the result suggest. The home team trailed 0-7 to 1-3 at the halfway point and were the same margin in arrears on fifty minutes. Four late goals put a gloss on the victory. Starring were Cathal keened, Darragh Butler, Alex Considine and Brian Grogan.
Leinster Under 21 Final
In 2011, for the first time ever Dublin feature in minor, under 21 and senior provincial deciders in the same year. Two were played on Sunday 3rd July and on 13th July the under 21’s will travel to Wexford Park to take on the Slayneysiders to determine the destination of the provincial crown. Five Crokes players are on the panel and all support welcomed.
Later in the month, (weekend 23/24 July), Dublin seniors play in the All-Ireland quarter final while the Dublin minors are scheduled to take to the field in the All-Ireland semi final on 7th August 2011.
