Report Week Ending 19th June 2011
Dublin’s senior hurlers, with Crokes players Niall Corcoran and Ryan O’Dywer on board, continued their upward spiral with a well merited 0-19 to 2-7 victory over Galway in the semi final of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship at Tullamore on Saturday 18th June 2011. A strong first half display put Dublin in the driving seat (0-12 to 1-2) at half time. Apart from a nervous period in the second installment, the opposition never really looking like winning and the Dubs won through to face Kilkenny in Croke Park on Sunday 3rd July at 4pm. Well done to all concerned. For www.hill16.ie report see HERE
Before then the Dublin under 21’s, with a strong Crokes input, face Offaly in the Leinster semi final in Parnell Park on Thursday 23rd June 2011 with a 7.30pm throw in. The following Saturday, 25th June, the Dublin minors, also with Crokes personnel, play Westmeath at the same stage and venue (throw in 7pm)
The club playing focus was on the underage teams this week.
On Sunday 19th June 2011 the under 12s played in a four team tournament in Fermoy. Over the course of a successful day they had good wins over hosts Fermoy (6-4 to 3-0) and Mullinahone (Tipperary) by 6-5 to 1-2 and were beaten in their first match by Sarsfields by 1-4 to 1-1. Well done to all concerned and many thanks to our hosts
On Friday evening 17th June 2011 the under 13A’s took to the field against neighbours Cuala in Silverpark and won by 7-8 to 4-4 in a First Division game. The following day the B’s went down to Na Fianna. A similar fate befell the under 14B’s away in Division 2 against Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh when they went down by 3-6 1-14.
In their final game before departure for the National Feile na nGael Finals in Galway on the weekend of 24-26 June the under 14 A squad notched up two Division 1 points with a win over St Vincents at Silverpark on Saturday 18th June 2011.
Following the trail blazing 2005 All-Ireland winners and the 2011 under 14’s will be the third set of Kilmacud Crokes under 14 hurlers in four years to represent Dublin in the National finals. This promises to be an experience of a lifetime and we wish all involved a great trip. Their group fixtures are

Group winners proceed to quarter final
All week evenings were taken up with the ever popular Mini All-Ireland series. All week a total of 400 boys, divided into 40 teams in 7 different age groups played games in Pairc de Burca culminating in Finals night for everybody on Friday evening 17th June.
Recreation for more venerable members came in the form of the annual Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Golf Classic on Thursday 16th June 2011 at Bray Golf Club. This was the Hurling Section’s second major corporate event of the year and, as with the Punchestown Race Day, our friends in the commercial sector were most generous in their response. After some great golf, the participants were treated to excellent fare before prize giving at 9.30 pm. First past the post was the Thomas Barry & Company, Solicitors, team. For report see HERE
