Report Week Ending 5th June 2011

Body

On Monday 30th May 2011 the intermediates came away from Tymon North with two AHL3 points after a high scoring encounter with St Judes.  Against the incline and strong cross wind Crokes led 0-10 to 1-5 after the opening period.  A twenty fifth minute goal from a 20 metre free brought Judes back into the game.

Within four minutes of the restart the Spawell outfit notched 1-2 to go into a three point lead.  Over the next twenty minutes it was nip and tuck with the Kilmacud men just not able to draw level.  Then the floodgates opened and a late unanswered 1-5 scoring spree (the goal booted to the net by substitute Brian Hanamy) saw them home by 1-20 to 2-9.

A sun drenched Pairc de Burca hosted the under 14B’s Division 2 tie with Faughs on Friday evening.  This was an exciting game in which three first half goals helped Crokes to a 3-2 to 0-6 half time lead.  The second half was equally competitive but the home boys greater facility to take scores proved the difference on a 4-9 to 2-8 scoreline.  For report see HERE.

The under 14A’s travelled to Johnstown Park on Saturday 4th June 2011 for a reprise of the Feile final against Na Fianna.  The result of that game was replicated in a low scoring match.  The Kilmacud lads led at the interval by five points to three and went on to register an 0-13 to 0-8 victory.  Stephen O’Dwyer contributed eleven points, three from play.  He was well complimented by Conor Kelly, Fergal Whitely and Ronan Hayes.

Team of the weekend were the under 13B’s who recorded an excellent and well deserved 10-11 to 3-6 win over Naomh Fionnbarra in Division 4 at Deerpark on Saturday afternoon.  For report see HERE

The under 10’s were in action twice over the weekend winning the Ballyboden tournament on Saturday and finishing runners up in the Bray Tournament on Friday.  For report see HERE
