U12's complete Laois series

Body

Held again at Rathdowney the Crokes lads acquitted themselves well bagging two victories over the Laois second and third strings and going down narrowly after a close game to the premier side.

Barry Horan in goal made some great saves, one particularly brave at the expense of a point in the first game.  Conor Sweeney at full back got in some massive clearances and was ably supported by Michael O’Dwyer and Matthew McNicholas some of whose catching was immaculate.  The half backs Conor Britchfield, Conor O’Dwyer and Conall O’Neill hit some great ball into the forwards.  At centre field Conor Devins and Robert Murphy worked hard.  Wing forward Neil Gorey was always a threat while his colleague on the other wing Dara O’Gallchobhair had a very impressive outing, notching up some outstanding scores.  Tomas Barry was also on the scoresheet with his pointed 65 in the second game a particular highlight.  Full forward Kevin James McGowan was again in bustling form and rattled the net more than once.

All told this series has been of great benefit to our kids.  Our thanks to our hosts for their splendid organisation, to all our players and especially to the parents who provided transport.
