 Kilmacud Crokes V Na Fianna

The undefeated Dublin champions went into the match with an impressive record, but their reign was to be dented by the Na Fianna team.  Crokes started well with Lorcan Tucker, Eamon Allen and Adam O’Neill pressurising NaFianna.  The pressure continued as Tom Duke sent the ball into the full forwards - Shane Veale, Peter Herlihy and Conor Gowing which had the NaFianna defenders struggling.   Daniel Coakley, Stephen Doyle and Sean Crowe were dwarfed by the NaFianna forwards (definitely over 6ft!), but were able to compensate by their skill and agility.  Tom Duke, Eoin Keane and Mark McCallion worked tirelessly battling the ball back up the pitch.  Seconds from the half time whistle both sides were level, but NaFianna scored a goal, ending the first half 1:7 to 3:4

Following half time, Mikey Crowley and Sean Keating did their best to encourage the team foward.  But losing Peter Herlihy to injury did not help the Crokes side.  A goal scored by Crokes was disallowed for square ball.  Overall it was a tough match and we look forward to the return match to restore our rightful position on the table.
