U13's clinch Division 1 title

More honours for Crokes in momentous week!

The U13 hurlers clinched the Division 1 title last night (Friday 19 October 2012) at Ballinteer Community School with a comfortable win in their final league game against Ballinteer/St Johns. The Crokes team were out of the blocks quickly from the throw-in and had posted 4-04 to no reply after 10 minutes. It was clear then that an understrength Ballinteer/St Johns team would not be a match for a determined Crokes team on the night but, to give them great credit, they battled and competed for every ball over the 60 minutes. Conor showed great concentration levels as he rotated his players on/off and around the pitch throughout the game and Gary and Naomhan, fresh from their magnificent inter-county success with the Seniors, also kept a watchful eye on proceedings and reminded the lads at half-time not to forget their defensive responsibilities. The players responded by keeping a clean sheet on the night and the game finished up 12-13 to no score in favour of Crokes. The two points were sufficient to secure the league title for Kilmacud Crokes - a great reward for the players for all the hard work and effort that they have put in throughout the year.

The Team squad was: Mark Gilleran, Tom Kehoe, Paul Buckley, Eoin Barr, Scott Penny, Cathal O'Dwyer, Stephen Horgan, Lorcan O'Connor, Darragh Jones, Dylan Crossan, Niall Brady, Hugh Kenny, Michael Gibbons, Barry MacGabhann, Michael Taafe, Sam Lynch, Eamon Keating, David Cullen & Daniel Crowley.
